Ulota crispa (Hedw.) Sw., known as Crisped Pincushion, is an acrocarpous moss in the family Orthotrichaceae. It is native to eastern North America and is typically found growing in dense mounds on tree bark.

Description

Ulota crispa is a moss species in the genus Ulota, part of the Orthotrichaceae family. It is distributed across regions such as Labrador, Québec, Pico Island, Madeira Island, the UK, Flanders, the US state of Vermont, Norway, Denmark, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and Belgium. This species was first described in 1818. It grows in compact tufts on the bark of trees and is commonly referred to as Crisped Pincushion in English.
