Crinum natans is a herbaceous plant in the Amaryllidaceae family, characterized by a small bulb and a robust root system. It is native to several regions in West and Central Africa, including Cameroon, Nigeria, and the Gulf of Guinea islands, and was first described in 1898 by Baker.

Description

This species has crinkled leaves that can be both submerged and floating, measuring up to 140 cm in length and 2.2 cm in width. Its flowers are large and emerge above the water surface. It is a rheophyte, typically found in aquatic or semi-aquatic environments.
