Botrychium crenulatum is a fern species in the Ophioglossaceae family, commonly known as crenulate moonwort. It is native to North America, found in regions from British Columbia to California and Wyoming. This species is uncommon and grows in wet meadows, coniferous forests, and marshy areas.

Description

Botrychium crenulatum is a small fern species growing from an underground caudex. It produces a single thin, shiny, yellow-green leaf up to 6 cm tall, divided into sterile and fertile parts. The sterile part features veined, fan-shaped leaflets with wrinkled edges, while the fertile part has grape-like clusters of sporangia for reproduction. It is found in scattered locations across its range, including Newfoundland, Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
