Cremastosperma brevipes is a tree species in the Annonaceae family, native to French Guiana. It was first described in 1939. The tree can grow up to 20 meters tall with a trunk diameter of up to 20 cm. Its leaves are elliptic to obovate, ranging from 18 to 39 cm in length and 7 to 15 cm in width, with a reddish tinge on both sides and a glabrous surface. The inflorescence consists of single flowers, either solitary or in clusters of two, on leafless twigs.

Description

Cremastosperma brevipes is a tree species in the Annonaceae family, found in French Guiana. The tree can reach heights of 4 to 20 meters and has a trunk diameter of 3 to 20 cm. Young twigs and petioles are either glabrous or sparsely covered with appressed white or yellowish hairs up to 0.2 mm long. The leaves have petioles measuring 4 to 9 mm in length and 1.5 to 4 mm in width, with lamina that are elliptic to obovate, 18 to 39 cm long and 7 to 15 cm wide. The leaf surface is chartaceous, brownish-green with a reddish tinge on both sides, darker on the upper surface, and glabrous. The primary vein is 1.5 to 3 mm wide at its widest point, with secondary veins ranging from 9 to 15, and intersecondary veins from 0 to 2. The inflorescence consists of single flowers, either solitary or in clusters of two, on leafless twigs. Peduncles and pedicels are sparsely to densely covered with appressed white or yellowish hairs. The lower bracts are deltate, 0.2 to 0.5 mm long, and mostly persistent.
