Creeping White Clover
Trifolium repens L.
Trifolium repens L., commonly known as Creeping White Clover, is a species in the Fabaceae family. It was first described in 1753. The species is native to regions including Greenland, Labrador, Newfoundland, and various Canadian provinces, as well as Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Açores, Madeira, and several Atlantic islands. The lectotype for this species was designated as the single sheet in Herb. Linn., and this choice was later confirmed as valid. An alternative type designation by Rudd was proposed but is considered predated by the earlier selection.
