Juniperus procumbens is a shrub in the cypress family, native to Japan. It is a low-growing, evergreen conifer that shares a close relationship with Juniperus chinensis. The species has a distribution that includes Japan, Korea, and the Nansei-shoto islands. It was first described in 1870 by Miq., based on earlier work by Siebold ex Endl.
