Description

Cotylelobium scabriusculum is a flowering plant species within the Dipterocarpaceae family. It is endemic to the lowland wet evergreen rain forests of southwestern Sri Lanka, where it is commonly found along large streams. The species faces significant threats due to habitat loss driven by agricultural expansion. As a result, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has assessed the species as Endangered. The tree was first described in 1895 and is part of the genus Cotylelobium, which is native to the Global and Sri Lankan regions.
