Costus lima is a species in the genus Costus, belonging to the family Costaceae. It was first described by K.Schum. in 1904. The species is native to several regions in South and Central America, including Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and Venezuela.

Description

Costus lima is a member of the Costaceae family and is found in various regions across South and Central America. Its distribution includes Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona, as well as the departments of Antioquia, Cauca, Chocó, Magdalena, Nariño, and Valle in Colombia. The species is also present in Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and Venezuela. First published in 1904 by K.Schum., it is part of the genus Costus, a group of flowering plants known for their ornamental and ecological significance in tropical ecosystems.
