Corylopsis platypetala is a species in the genus Corylopsis, belonging to the family Hamamelidaceae. It was first described by Rehder and E.H. Wilson in 1913. This species is native to South-Central and Southeast China.

Description

Corylopsis platypetala is a member of the Hamamelidaceae family, commonly known as the witch-hazel family. It is part of the genus Corylopsis, which includes several species of flowering shrubs. The species was scientifically described in 1913 by botanists Rehder and E.H. Wilson. Its natural range is limited to regions in South-Central and Southeast China. As with other members of the genus, it likely exhibits the characteristic early spring flowering typical of Corylopsis species.
