Coryanthes hunteriana is a member of the Orchidaceae family and is found in the regions of Costa Rica and Panama. The species was formally published in 1922 by the author Schltr. A voucher specimen, collected by J. B. Edwards and labeled as 136 (AMES), is documented as part of the species' record, with an asterisk indicating it is from the region of NCR.
