Guapira obtusata, known as corcho prieto, is a species in the Nyctaginaceae family. It was described by Little in 1968 and is native to several regions including Brazil, the Caribbean, and parts of the southeastern United States.

Description

Guapira obtusata is a member of the Nyctaginaceae family and is found across a range that includes Brazil (Northeast, Southeast, South, and West-Central regions), the Bahamas, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Florida, Haiti, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and the Turks and Caicos Islands. The species was published in 1968 under the authorship of Little. Commonly referred to as corcho prieto, it is part of the genus Guapira. Its distribution spans both tropical and subtropical areas of the Americas.
