The species is named after its only known locality. It grows up to 6 meters tall, with opposite, elliptic leaves and axillary inflorescences bearing up to seven flowers. Female flowers have a short-tubular calyx and narrowly funnelform corolla. Young fruits are sparsely pilose, while mature fruits and pyrenes remain unknown.

Description

Coprosma temetiuensis is a shrub reaching 4–6 m in height, with short-pilose young stems. Leaves are opposite, thinly coriaceous, 5.1–9.1 x 2.1–3.6 cm, elliptic, pinnately veined with 8–9 pairs of veins and reticulate higher venation. Both leaf surfaces are glabrous, with small, elongate domatia near the midrib. Petioles are 0.3–0.8 cm long. Stipules are 1.5–3 mm long, connate for 4/5 of their length, glabrous, with dentate margins and a few small colleters. Inflorescences are axillary, with 3–7 flowers per node, the uppermost bearing a 3-flowered cymule. Female flowers have a 0.25–0.3 mm long calyx and 2.2–2.5 mm long corolla lobes. Young fruits are sparsely pilose; mature fruits and pyrenes are unknown.
