Gastrodia cooperae, known as Cooper's black potato orchid, is a member of the Orchidaceae family and is found only in New Zealand. It is named after Dorothy A. Cooper, who founded the New Zealand Native Orchid Group.

Description

Gastrodia cooperae is a species of the genus Gastrodia in the Orchidaceae family. It is native to the North and South Islands of New Zealand. The species was named in honor of Dorothy A. Cooper, a notable figure in New Zealand's orchid conservation. This orchid was formally described in 2016 by Lehnebach and J.R. Rolfe.
