Description
Sigesbeckia orientalis is a sparsely branched shrub with yellow flowers, found in regions including Belgium, France, The Netherlands, Great Britain, and parts of Asia and Africa. It is also known by the common name Indian weed. The species is part of the genus Sigesbeckia and is widely distributed across BR, TW, ZA, SC, CK, Walloon Region, AS, Pitcairn Islands, WS, PW, KI, IT, DK, UZ, KG, and KM. The nomenclatural history indicates that the type specimen was discussed in Linnaean works, with McVaugh & Anderson referencing 1018.1 LINN, though this predates Stearn's choice.
