Picea abies, known as the Norway spruce or Common Spruce, is a species of spruce native to Northern, Central, and Eastern Europe. It belongs to the genus Picea in the family Pinaceae. The species was first described in 1881 and is found in regions such as Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, and various European countries including Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Turkey, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, Portugal, and Ukraine.

Description

Picea abies is a coniferous tree widely distributed across Europe. It is part of the Pinaceae family and is commonly referred to as the Norway spruce.
