Cryptantha affinis is a flowering annual plant in the Boraginaceae family, found in open areas of coniferous forests at elevations between 700 and 2900 m. It is commonly associated with other genera such as Clarkia, Hesperolinon, Lasthenia, Lupinus, Mimulus, and Phacelia.

Description

Cryptantha affinis (A.GRay) Greene, known as common cryptantha, is a member of the Boraginaceae family. It is an annual flowering plant native to regions including Alberta, British Columbia, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. First described in 1887, it grows in open habitats within coniferous forests. This species is often found in association with other genera such as Clarkia, Hesperolinon, Lasthenia, Lupinus, Mimulus, and Phacelia.
