Symphyotrichum chilense (Nees) G.L.Nesom, described in 1995, is a species found in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, California, Oregon, and Washington. Despite its scientific name, it is not present in Chile. It belongs to the Asteraceae family and is part of the genus Symphyotrichum. The plant is commonly called common California aster in English.
