Flueggea virosa, commonly known as common bushweed, is a species in the family Phyllanthaceae. It is native to the Old World tropics and subtropics, including Africa, the Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and Australia. The plant has also been introduced to regions such as Florida and Puerto Rico. It is dispersed by birds and is assessed as Least Concern.

Description

Flueggea virosa is a flowering plant species found in the family Phyllanthaceae. It is native to tropical and subtropical regions of the Old World, including parts of Africa, the Indian Ocean islands, the Arabian Peninsula, the Indian Subcontinent, southern China, Southeast Asia, Malesia, New Guinea, and Australia. It has also been introduced to parts of the Americas, such as Florida and Puerto Rico. The species is dispersed by birds and is widely distributed across its native and introduced ranges. It is known by several common names, including simpleleaf bushweed, white-berry bush, snowberry tree, and Chinese waterberry. First published in 1836, Flueggea virosa is considered to be of Least Concern in terms of conservation status.
