Colchis ivy

Hedera colchica, described in 1859, is a climbing evergreen plant native to the Middle East. It belongs to the genus Hedera and is commonly referred to as Colchis ivy. This species is capable of reaching up to 30 m in height when climbing, using aerial rootlets to attach to surfaces. In the absence of vertical structures, it spreads as ground cover. It is more vigorous in warm climates and establishes itself faster than other ivy species. It is distributed across regions including Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Great Britain, the United States, and parts of Eastern Europe and the Caucasus.
