Agoseris hirsuta, known as Coast range agoseris, is a species in the Asteraceae family. It is native to the Coast Ranges of California, from Humboldt County to San Luis Obispo County. This herb is characterized by its rosette leaves and yellow ligulate flowers.
Description
Agoseris hirsuta is a herb with rosette leaves that are obovate, 7.0–30.0 cm long, and pinnatifid to entire, with petiole-like bases and varying degrees of hairiness. The peduncle ranges from 10.0–45.0 cm long and is pubescent to villose, often glandular. The inflorescence consists of 50–250 yellow ligulate flowers. The involucre is cylindric-campanulate to campanulate, with green or purplish bracts that are hairy and glandular. Achenes are fusiform or narrowly ovoid, with a beak 6.0–10.0 mm long, and a pappus 4.0–10.0 mm long. This species is endemic to the Coast Ranges of California.
