Sparganium glomeratum, known as clustered bur-reed, is a water plant species belonging to the family Typhaceae. It is native to high elevation lakes and marshes across Europe, Asia, and North America. Previously, its presence in North America was considered introduced due to its sparse and scattered populations. However, recent herbarium surveys in central Canada have identified additional localities, supporting its classification as a circumpolar species.

Description

Sparganium glomeratum is a member of the Typhaceae family and is distributed across regions including Labrador, Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and parts of Asia and Europe. The species was first published in 1857. It is commonly found in high elevation aquatic habitats and has been recorded in various regions such as the Nearctic, Oriental (Indomalaya), Palaearctic, Altay, Amur, Baltic States, Belarus, Buryatiya, Central European Rus, China South-Central, Chita, East European Russia, and Finland.
