Fumaria capreolata L. is a member of the poppy family (Papaveraceae) and was first described in 1753. It is an annual herb that grows in a climbing or ramping manner. The species is distributed across several regions including the Açores, Madeira, and various islands in the Azores, as well as mainland Europe and parts of northern Europe. It has also been introduced and naturalised in parts of the southern hemisphere, including southern Australia, New Zealand, and southern South America. The plant is known by several common names, including climbing fumitory, white ramping fumitory, and white-flower fumitory. A note in botanical literature clarifies that a previously cited type specimen is not original material for this species.
