Clematicissus opaca, known by several common names including small-leaf grape and pepper vine, is a small vine native to Australia. It is primarily found in coastal and sub-coastal regions of Queensland and New South Wales, with some occurrences inland in central New South Wales. The plant grows in rocky areas within monsoon forest, littoral rainforest, and open forest habitats. It is occasionally cultivated in gardens.

Description

Clematicissus opaca (F.Muell.) Jackes & Rossetto is a member of the Vitaceae family and is part of the Clematicissus genus. The species was first described in 2006. It is commonly referred to as small-leaf grape, pepper vine, small-leaved water vine, yaloone, and wappo wappo. This vine is endemic to Australia and is naturally found in rocky habitats across various forest types. Its distribution is mainly within the coastal and sub-coastal regions of Queensland and New South Wales, though it can also be found west of the Great Dividing Range in central New South Wales.
