It is commonly referred to as small-leaf grape, pepper vine, small-leaved water vine, yaloone, and wappo wappo. This vine is endemic to Australia and is naturally found in rocky habitats across various forest types. Its distribution is mainly within the coastal and sub-coastal regions of Queensland and New South Wales, though it can also be found west of the Great Dividing Range in central New South Wales.
