Cleisostoma tenuifolium (L.) Garay is an epiphytic orchid found in India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. It was first described as Epidendrum tenuifolium by Carl Linnaeus in 1753 and later reclassified. The plant grows 10-40 cm long, with a 5 cm long, raceme-like inflorescence bearing several flowers. The flowers are yellow, with a dorsal sepal measuring 4.5 × 1.2 mm.

Description

Cleisostoma tenuifolium is a member of the Orchidaceae family and is native to western India, Sri Lanka, eastern Myanmar, and Thailand. It is an epiphytic orchid, attaching itself to trees and growing downward. The plant has a raceme-like inflorescence that is 5 cm long and supports several flowers. The flowers are yellow in color, with a dorsal sepal of 4.5 × 1.2 mm. This species was first described in 1753 as Epidendrum tenuifolium by Carl Linnaeus and was later reclassified under the genus Cleisostoma by Garay in 1972.
