Citronella mucronata, known as huillipatagua, naranjillo, or Chilean citronella tree, is an evergreen tree in the Cardiopteridaceae family. It is endemic to central Chile, specifically the Chilean matorral region between 30° and 40° south latitude.

Description

Citronella mucronata is a member of the genus Citronella and was first described in 1832 by D.Don, based on earlier work by Ruiz & Pav. It is native to central Chile and is part of the broader distribution noted in botanical records. The species is part of the Cardiopteridaceae family, which is represented in this region by a limited number of species.
