Pinus roxburghii, commonly known as chir pine or longleaf Indian pine, is a pine tree species native to the Himalayas. It was named after William Roxburgh and was previously found as far as Gujarat.

Description

Pinus roxburghii belongs to the genus Pinus in the family Pinaceae. It is commonly called chir pine and is found in regions including the Himalayas, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Tibet. Its distribution also extends to areas such as Bangladesh, East Himalaya, and parts of Africa and the Americas. The species was first published in 1897.
