Description
Incarvillea delavayi, sometimes called hardy gloxinia or flowering fern, is a member of the Bignoniaceae family. It is indigenous to the regions of western Sichuan and northwest Yunnan in China. Despite its common names, it is not a true gloxinia (which belongs to the Gesneriaceae family) nor a true fern, as ferns are spore-reproducing and flowerless. The species was first described in 1891 by Bureau & Franch.
