Rheum palmatum, commonly known as Chinese rhubarb, is a species in the Polygonaceae family. It is native to regions in China and parts of Europe and South America.

Description

Rheum palmatum is a flowering plant in the knotweed family, Polygonaceae. It is known by several common names, including Chinese rhubarb, ornamental rhubarb, Turkey rhubarb, and East Indian rhubarb. The species is distributed across various regions, including China North-Central, China South-Central, Inner Mongolia, Qinghai, Tibet, Vietnam, as well as parts of Europe and South America. It was first described by Linnaeus in 1759.
