Persicaria chinensis (L.) H.Gross is a member of the Polygonaceae family, commonly known as Chinese knotweed. It is native to regions including China, Japan, the Indian Subcontinent, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam, and has been documented in various other locations such as Hawaii, Jamaica, Korea, and Massachusetts. This species was first published in 1913.

Description

Persicaria chinensis is a plant species in the buckwheat family, Polygonaceae. It is widely distributed in China, Japan, the Indian Subcontinent, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Additional records show its presence in regions such as Hawaii, Jamaica, Korea, and Massachusetts. The species was first published in 1913 and is commonly referred to as Chinese knotweed.
