Buxus sinica, known as Chinese boxwood, is a species in the Buxaceae family. It is native to central and southern China, Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan, growing at elevations between 600 and 2,600 meters. It is a shrub or small tree and is found in various habitats.

Buxus sinica, the Chinese boxwood, is a member of the Buxaceae family. It is indigenous to central and southern China, as well as parts of East Asia including Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan. This species typically grows as a shrub or small tree and is adapted to a range of habitats, usually at elevations from 600 to 2,600 meters above sea level. The species was published in 1980 under the authorship of M. Cheng, based on earlier work by Rehder and E.H. Wilson.
