Goodyera tesselata, known as Checkered Rattlesnake Plantain, is an orchid species native to eastern Canada and the northeastern United States. It is part of the Orchidaceae family and was first described in 1825 by G.Lodd.

Description

Goodyera tesselata is a member of the Orchidaceae family and is distributed across Newfoundland, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and the U.S. states of Vermont, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. This species is commonly referred to as Checkered Rattlesnake Plantain in English.
