Lilium rubescens is a native lily species of northwestern California and southwestern Oregon, found in the Coast Ranges from Lane County to Santa Cruz Counties. It is known by the common names redwood lily and chaparral lily, as well as chamise lily. This species was first described in 1879 by S. Watson and belongs to the Liliaceae family.

Description

Lilium rubescens is a relatively uncommon lily species that grows in the Coast Ranges of northwestern California and southwestern Oregon. It is typically found in chaparral and redwood habitats, hence some of its common names. The species is part of the genus Lilium and is one of the native lilies of the region. Its scientific name was first published in 1879 by S. Watson.
