Cephalanthera cucullata is a species in the Orchidaceae family, native to mountain woods and scrub habitats. It was first described in 1854 by Boiss. & Heldr.

Description

This orchid has an erect, glabrous stem 15–30 cm tall, with about four whitish basal sheaths. It has two leaves, 5–6 cm long, oblong-lanceolate, acute, and cucullate. The spike is 4–15 cm long and bears 7 to 24 flowers, which are white or pinkish and open. The outer perianth segments are 14–20 mm, oblong-lanceolate, and acute, while the inner lateral segments are 12–16 mm, ovate-oblong, and subobtuse or acute. The labellum is slightly shorter than the other perianth segments, with a rounded hypo­chile and a cordate epichile with 3–6 ridges. The spur is 1–2 mm, conical, and obtuse. The ovary is glabrous.
