Centotheca lappacea (L.) Desv. is a species in the genus Centotheca, belonging to the grass family Poaceae. It was first described in 1810 and is widely distributed across tropical and subtropical regions.

Description

Centotheca lappacea is a grass species native to various regions including Taiwan, Assam, Indonesia, French Polynesia, Tonga, the Andaman Islands, Bangladesh, Benin, Borneo, Cambodia, Cameroon, the Caroline Islands, the Central African Republic, southern and southeastern China, the East Himalaya, Equatorial Guinea, and other parts of Africa and Asia. It is a member of the Poaceae family, one of the largest and most economically important plant families. The species has a broad geographic range and is commonly found in tropical and subtropical climates.
