Stylophorum diphyllum, known as Celandine Poppy, is a member of the Papaveraceae family. It is native to the eastern United States and Ontario, typically growing in moist forests over calcareous rock, especially in ravines.

Description

Stylophorum diphyllum (Michx.) Nutt., commonly referred to as Celandine Poppy, is an herbaceous plant in the poppy family (Papaveraceae). It is found in regions including Ontario, Vermont, Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. The species was first described in 1818. It thrives in moist forest environments, particularly on calcareous rock, and is often associated with ravine habitats.
