Libocedrus bidwillii, known as New Zealand cedar, is a species in the cypress family Cupressaceae. It is native to New Zealand and is also referred to by the Māori names pāhautea and kaikawaka.

Description

Libocedrus bidwillii is a coniferous tree species belonging to the genus Libocedrus in the family Cupressaceae. It is endemic to New Zealand, where it is commonly called cedar. The species was first described by Hook.f. in 1864. It is found in both the North and South Islands of New Zealand.
