Cassipourea malosana is part of the Rhizophoraceae family, commonly known as the mangrove family. This species is distributed across various African countries, such as Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Provinces, Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, KwaZulu-Natal, Malawi, Mozambique, Northern Provinces, Somalia, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zaïre, and Zimbabwe. The scientific name was formally published in 1922 by Alston, with the original work attributed to Baker.
