Caryota maxima, described by Blume in 1838, is a species in the genus Caryota of the palm family Arecaceae. It is native to regions in Asia, including Assam, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China South-Central, China Southeast, East Himalaya, Hainan, Java, Laos, Malaya, Myanmar, the Philippines, Sumatra, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Description

Caryota maxima is a member of the palm family Arecaceae and is part of the genus Caryota. This species was first published in 1838 by Blume. It is naturally distributed across several countries in Southeast and South Asia. Its range includes Assam, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China South-Central, China Southeast, East Himalaya, Hainan, Java, Laos, Malaya, Myanmar, the Philippines, Sumatra, Thailand, and Vietnam.
