Caryocar villosum (Aubl.) Pers.
Caryocar villosum (Aubl.) Pers. is a species in the genus Caryocar, belonging to the family Caryocaraceae. It is native to several regions in South America, including parts of Brazil, Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador, French Guiana, and Venezuela. The species is found in the Amazon basin, particularly in the southern part of the Vichada department, the southeast of Meta, and in the departments of Amazonas, Caquetá, Guainía, Guaviare, Putumayo, and Vaupés. It is also present in the Bota Caucana and the Amazonian slopes of Nariño. The species was first described in 1806.
Description
Caryocar villosum is a member of the Caryocaraceae family and is distributed across the Amazon basin and surrounding areas. Its range includes regions in Brazil, Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador, French Guiana, and Venezuela. Within Colombia, it is found in the southern Vichada department, the southeast of Meta, and in the departments of Amazonas, Caquetá, Guainía, Guaviare, Putumayo, and Vaupés. It also occurs in the Bota Caucana and the high-altitude Amazonian slopes of Nariño. The species was first published in 1806.
