Attalea crassispatha is a critically endangered palm species native to southwest Haiti. It is the most geographically isolated member of the genus Attalea and is recognized as one of the rarest palms in the Americas.

Description

This species belongs to the Arecaceae family and is known by the common name carossier palm. Endemic to a limited area in southwest Haiti, it faces significant threats to its survival. First described in 1929, Attalea crassispatha remains one of the most rare and isolated palm species in the Americas.
