Description

Cabomba caroliniana (A.Gray) is a member of the family Cabombaceae and is native to the Nearctic and Neotropical regions. It has been introduced to various parts of the world, including Europe, Australia, and parts of Asia. The species was first described in 1837 and is commonly known as Carolina fanwort. Its distribution includes regions such as Nova Scotia, Ontario, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Great Britain, and others. Due to its popularity in the aquarium trade, it has been exported widely and has established invasive populations in several non-native regions.
