Amaranthus palmeri is a species within the genus Amaranthus. It is known by several common names, including carelessweed, dioecious amaranth, Palmer's amaranth, and Palmer's pigweed. This plant is native to and found in various regions, including Ontario, Madeira, parts of Europe such as Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and other countries across Europe and beyond. It belongs to the Amaranthaceae family and was first published in 1877 by S. Watson.
