The species is found in regions including the Canary Islands, Madeira, Azores, Sicily, Tunisia, and parts of East Africa, as well as in global cultivation.

Description

Dracaena draco is a member of the genus Dracaena and is recognized by its common name, the Canary Island Dragon Tree. It is native to the Macaronesian archipelago and northwestern mainland Africa. The species has been documented in several regions, including the Canary Islands, Madeira, Azores, Sicily, Tunisia, East Africa, and parts of Brazil and New Zealand. Historical botanical discussions reference the Clusius type figure, as noted by Bos and Ramon-Laca Menendez de Luarca. The species was first published in 1767.
