Solidago canadensis, known as Canada goldenrod, is an herbaceous perennial in the Asteraceae family. It is native to northeastern and north-central North America and has become invasive in other parts of the continent and in several regions globally, including Eurasia. The plant forms upright colonies with small yellow flowers in a branching inflorescence above the foliage.

Description

Solidago canadensis is a member of the genus Solidago and was first described in 1753. It is widely distributed across Europe, including countries such as Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and Great Britain, as well as in parts of Eastern Europe and the Balkans. The plant is characterized by its yellow, branching flower clusters and is commonly found in a range of habitats. Its native range is in northeastern and north-central North America.
