Calvoa hirsuta is a species in the family Melastomataceae, native to several regions in West and Central Africa.

Description

Calvoa hirsuta, described by Hook.f. ex Triana in 1872, is a member of the Melastomataceae family. It is distributed across Angola, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Zaïre), Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, the Gulf of Guinea Islands, Ivory Coast, and Liberia. This species is part of the genus Calvoa, which is characterized by its presence in tropical African ecosystems.
