Suaeda californica is a species in the Chenopodiaceae family, native to California and the Mexico Northwest region. It is commonly known as California sea-blite and was first described in 1874 by S. Watson. This plant is now restricted to San Luis Obispo County, particularly in the Morro Bay marshes. Former populations in the San Francisco Bay area have been lost, but the species has been reintroduced to several sites there.
