Parodia scopa, known as the silver ball cactus, is a species in the Cactaceae family, native to upland southern Brazil and Uruguay. It is a spherical or cylindrical cactus that can grow up to 50 cm in height and 10 cm in width. The plant features a spiny, woolly crown and produces pale yellow flowers during the summer. It was first published in 1987.
Description
Parodia scopa is a member of the Cactaceae family and is found in southern Brazil and Uruguay. This cactus has a rounded or cylindrical shape, reaching heights of 5–50 cm and widths of up to 10 cm. It is characterized by a spiny, woolly crown and blooms with pale yellow flowers in the summer. The species was described by N.P.Taylor in 1987.
