Description
Phytolacca icosandra is a species of flowering plant in the genus Phytolacca, part of the Phytolaccaceae family. It is commonly referred to as button pokeweed and is native to the neotropical regions of the Americas. The plant has also been introduced into the warmer areas of the western United States. Its distribution includes various parks and regions in Colombia, such as the Parque Nacional Natural Cocuy, Parque Nacional Natural Puracé, and Parque Nacional Natural Sierra de la Macarena, as well as several other parks and departments. It is also found in countries like Arizona, California, and parts of Central America and the Caribbean. The species was first described in 1759 by Linnaeus.
