Description

The species was first described by Linnaeus in 1753. Taxonomic studies have examined the type specimen, with Schweickerdt and El Hadidi independently designating the same type as Burtt, though the original material for the name lacks a Species Plantarum number and is considered a post-1753 addition to the herbarium.
