Brunia microphylla is a shrub native to the Western Cape in South Africa, where it is part of the fynbos vegetation. It is found in a range extending from the Limietberg, north of Bainskloof, to the Riviersonderend and Kleinrivier Mountains as far as Bredasdorp.
Description
Brunia microphylla, described by Thunb. in 1794, is a member of the Bruniaceae family. It is endemic to the Western Cape and grows in mountainous regions from the Limietberg, north of Bainskloof, south to areas north of Betty's Bay and Kleinmond, and further east to the Riviersonderend and Kleinrivier Mountains. The species is part of the fynbos biome, a unique and diverse vegetation type found in the region.
